The programme contributes to train researchers working in the field of Automation, Computer Engineering and Operational Research.

Training activities are focused on themes and areas of research explored by the Department of Automation and Computer Engineering, tutors and other members of the Academic Board.

Students collaborate with external researchers experienced in the field of interest, in order to complete their research project. PhD training can be carried out in collaboration with external Institutions.

The goal of this programme is to develop students ability to study, research, develop innovation and manage projects; those skills are meant to be applied not only in Academia, but also in the framework of public research centers or industries operating in the sector of Computer Engineering, or to promote the establishment of new high-tech companies.
